Entrepreneurial Leadership Campaign
African Entrepreneur® (AE) and the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®) is excited to launch a new and powerful campaign entitled: "Entrepreneurial Leadership".
The campaign targets the entire African continent from Cape to Cairo and the launch coincides with the Africa Day celebrations in May –which is an African Union initiative to commemorate the diversity, uniqueness and potential that exists across the African continent.
Since democracy dawned upon us in 1994, the South African governmental support of entrepreneurial development has been unwavering. Policies and strategies have been put firmly in place to help realise a new and stronger Africa by exploiting all business opportunities for all community participants, including the youth, women and the disabled.
Progress and the Path Forward
Today, efforts have not fully reached fruition and our envisaged environment of better living for all with a purpose, employment opportunities (especially for the youth), and innovative, connected communities in Africa are yet to materialise. In this light, The National Small Business Council has identified areas that require special attention, specifically knowledge and financial support.
As partners, AE and CCL believe that there is an incredible need to create the capacity for leading by inculcating both an entrepreneurial spirit and growth culture within existing businesses, which will ultimately lead towards poverty eradication and employment creation. However, it is vital that this approach incorporates all society structures to help create a robust entrepreneurial mindset and spirit.
The Entrepreneurial Leadership Campaign's focus audience is the facilitators using the 'train the trainer' concept and includes the government, the education sector, the corporate sector, experienced entrepreneurs, unions and community leaders.
Our Envisaged Outcomes
The mission of the Entrepreneurial Leadership Campaign is to create a sustainable entrepreneurial environment with solid support structures within our communities, which includes:
Inspiring teamwork to create more motivated and confident communities with enhanced relational skills
Helping develop employable skills for the youth to aid in selecting careers, including entrepreneurship
Training local facilitators to benefit present and future communities
Instilling collaborative and productive working practices to build local businesses and group activities
Encouraging agility and adaptability to re-invent economic activity in local markets
Creating a culture of continuous learning and developing knowledge-sharing platforms
Our Approach
Launching a project as intensive, dynamic and all encompassing, as the Entrepreneurial Leadership Campaign, requires an innovative and integrated approach from all society's sectors. And for efficacy, the campaign awareness and knowledge sharing elements will use a total trans-media platform. This includes broadcast (television and radio), educational workshops, digital publications, a dedicated website and social media platforms, mobile applications and an online learning management system.
Both AE and CCL are non-profit organisations, with a passion for knowledge, people and relationships. And, of course, as in any campaign of this magnitude, support by means of partnerships is vital for us to make it all happen. Your involvement will be invaluable in helping us to create 'innovative and connected communities' throughout Africa, thereby building a better and brighter future for our continent!
